Paw of Oppala bug?

Anyone have any experience or info with any bugs concerning the Paw? I've heard that a bug in the game will sometimes cause the Paw to disappear (sometimes to be replaced by common items, like bone chips) if you have it equipped.

The two bugs I've heard of is the Paw randomly disappearing and one more specific bug where it will disappear if you are charmed by an NPC.

The Paw quest is the only quest I'm even interested in (cleric-only armor?! JOKE!) and I want to see if anyone has had any bad experiences with bugs.

I was using my paw when I was feared by a necro who walked up behind me in the tox forest. His pet attacked and I started punching his pet with my paw. This is where you can run into problems. So after the battle I quickly check and its still there, so my friend gates us out. That's when I notice it was gone =( after petitioning (and waiting and repetitioning because I got removed from the cue somehow) the head GM gave me a shiny new paw. I was charmed again the other night and punched with it, but after the battle immediately unequipped it before we gated out and that seemed to keep it from poofing.

Yep its bugged still. I went LD in lower guk (not charmed or feared at all, has down camping the eye). When i logged back in, i had a lizard cloak in my hand where my Paw used to be! Shortly thereafter i noticed a guide was in my zone. I hailed him and had him take a look. He said that he couldnt do anything about it but he would pass it on to a GM. The next day i still hadnt heard nothing, so i /petitioned. Another guide shows up. He said that there was nothing in the system about me needing help getting paw back. I was SO lucky that i didnt un-equip my paw. Cause the guide said i would not have gotten it back if i had. So he looked at it and wrote up a "formal" complaint. A few days later a GM showed up and gave me my Paw back. I got to keep the cloak to! To bad it wasnt a BB hammer eh? (hehe)

A friend of mine lost her Paw in SolB when
she was charmed. It turned into an enamelled
black mace. She's still trying to get it
replaced. It's been about three weeks.

I crashed to come back and find my paw missing. As we were still fighting I equipped my mace. When I left the zone 10 bone chips appeared on my cursor. I assume they would have gone into my weapon slot had I not equipped my mace. Petitioned, GM said he'd pass a note to the head GM and took my email address. Talked to a guide friend of mine and he said it could take a month, so I just figured, well it's gone and who would ever believe me anyhow. Two weeks go by and I watch my friend get her's replaced. So I petition, ask the head GM directly the guide said. Well of course the head GM says he's too busy right now. Days go by, petition again. This guide says he will make my request RED, I assume that means priority. Well hours go by with no further contact, petition again. Guide says head GM is gone for the night, keep petitioning every day. ACK! Petition next day, now this guide seems bewildered as to why all those previous guides/gm's told me to do those things. He says to email the head GM and gives me the address. IF your paw morphs into something else DO NOT MOVE IT! Leave it there so they can see it, this confirms it for them. Well I have an email to write, good luck paw owners.

Just talked to my friend. She got her Paw back tonight (Camii on Povar gave it to her in exchange for the BEM that it morphed into). There is hope.

I'm assuming this is a problem with multiple big items, not just paw. A friend of mine lost their squad ring the other night and petitioned it...first question they asked him was "Were you charmed by a mob?" Apparentely, she goes on to tell him that a number of items has been disappearing after someone's been charmed/feared. At least they know...course, fixing it is another thing.

Aye, charm is mondo bugged.

Friend of mine lost his black tome with silver runes when he was charmed (it turned into bone chips - nice), he has yet to get it back.

He's not happy.

I'm Vulch's friend <hugs, V>, and although it was annoying having to wait a couple of weeks for my Paw to be replaced, I was told two things that you'all should know.

Charm is bugged, so equip a mace if you're fighting charming creatures. As long as you have one weapon wielded, you're fairly safe (according to the Guide I spoke to)

Whatever you do, even if it's junque, don't get rid of the morphed item. There's some item key/id that gets generated when an item is created that they can check and validate to see if it's bogus/morphed.

P.S. Now that I've gotten rid of the fake BEM, does anyone know what a real one is worth? Or should I just try to do the Sacrament quest?
