[edit] SPELLS

At level 39, clerics received what has been one of their most powerful spells to date Complete Healing.

At level 40, clerics receive the spell Temperance. This is the first 'all-in-one' spell that a cleric can cast that includes hitpoints and armor class protection AND can be cast on a level 1 character. It is the spell of choice up until a character hits level 46 usually. The spell is obtained via a quest from the Legacy of Ykesha expansion.

At level 50, clerics receive their first damage proc Ward of the Divine from earning enough 'crystals' at the DoN Merchants in order to purchase the spell. This spell is cast on the caster (cleric) and as mobs attempt to hit/bash/etc. the cleric, the spell can proc a DD back onto the mob. There are additional improvements to this line at higher levels.

At level 71, clerics receive the spell Vow of Valor. This is a spell cast on the cleric which when the cleric swings at a mob, it has a chance to proc a DD spell onto the mob. In addition to that, when the spell procs the DD, an elixer (heal over time) is cast on the cleric as well. Each time the spell procs, the elixer is recast.

[edit] AA's

There are several AA's (alternate advancements) that have made a strong impact on clerics.

Divine Arbitration - This is one of THE most class defining AA's a cleric can have. It determines damage taken by a group member and balances/redistributes it among the entire group. It's quick cast time (0.75 seconds) is part of its strength.

Gift of Mana - This is given to pure casters/priests and when a spell is cast, a 'check' is done and if it is successful, Gift of Mana procs a buff onto the caster. The next spell that meets the level limit (level 70 or lower) that is cast before the buff fades will only cost 1 mana. This is only possible if you still have enough mana in your manapool to theoretically be able to cast the choosen spell normally too.

Blessing of Ressurection - This is a new AA from the SoF expansion (November 2007). It is an innate rez aa with 96% experience returned. 3 second cast time, 12 second total recast (from start of cast, which really equates to 9 second recast after the AA is done casting). Using this in conjunction with the cleric epic can get 33% more rezzing done a minute. (With epic, 6 clicks can be done every minute if there is no downtime in selecting corpses. With the combination, 9 clicks can be done every minute.)

[edit] ITEMS

There are several items that are considered 'standard' cleric gear or should be obtained or are .

  • Water Sprinkler of Nem Ankh
  • 'Symbol' Quests (by race)

[edit] FOCUS EFFECTS

Clerics, like other casters, have focus effects that can help them improve or increase their efficiency or performance. These can include:

  • Mana Preservation
  • Improved Healing
  • Extended range
  • Buff Extenders
  • Spell Haste
