[edit] Board Challenges
Begining with Kytherea on the official SoE forums there were contests ran on a seasonal basis to acquire various prizes ranging from triggered GM event items such as the Mighty Adventurer's Spirit (charged rez stick), titles, or various other trinkets. These contests were voted on by the public and included everything from pictures to stories to poems. Eventually, Kytherea left and the current community manager, Zatozia, took over these contests.
These contests are on the official Sony forum in the Just for Fun section with threads entitled "Challenge" *[1]. The basic changes from Zatozia are more frequent contests and the typical prizes. The contests themselves can be any number of things from running your own events, to pictures, to writing a simple poem. You can check the boards every few weeks to see if one is up that is to your liking.
- These are NOT OFFICIAL CONTESTS, you may enter regardless of international law.
[edit] Selection Process
All entraints are viewed by the Everquest Community and Development Team and selected the winners or selected by Zatozia herself (depends on contest). Sometimes they are voted on by the community at large, this was the original process but has since changed.
[edit] Number of Winners
The chances depend on the quality of the work, however Zatozia has first and second place winners that receive diffent levels of prizes. She will often select more than one first and second place winners. Given enough time, there is a strong possibility you can get something.
[edit] Nortiously "Late" for Prize Distribution
Late only begins to describe the issue with the distribution process, she often takes month because of her busy schedule and lets multiple award cycles pile up to do in one ear shot. Expect to wait on average if you win for 3-6 months for your prize. If your account goes inactivate during this period you still have access to PM's.
[edit] What If?
Have no fear! Yes you can select prizes for different toons on different accounts. You already have a certain item from the contest you can give it to your other toon on the same account, your friend's account, or whatever whimsy you have. When she PM's you specify which characters and server you want the prize to go to.
[edit] Board Challenge Prizes
These vary from contest to contest, but typically offered:
1. Board title, this is your choice as long it is not offensive.
2. In game title, these most often are you choice. She PM's you to select five options ranked in the order which you most want. She then will select from that list the most appropriate for the game, which the vast majority of the time you get what you want unless if it's something obscene or deals with copyrighted material.
- Note this is one of the most efficient ways for time strapped players of any level to receive an in game title.

*Zatozia's Tortured Doll (No Longer Available)- This is an item that was created by Zajeer several years ago.
Alot of old SoE employees that have worked on Everquest have dolls named after them. Zatozia was to have her doll have a special effect decided by a contest, however the changes have never manifested itself and the doll remains clickless. The Lucy link is: *[6].
5. Alternate Advancedment Points:
AA's often between 3-5 depending on the challenge for the character of your choice, however the character must be over level 51 for them to take effect. They will merely be stored on the lower level character at the lower level.
6. First, Second, and Runners Up will often be posted on the eqplayer's website.
7. Winners of these events with titles and items are available to be placed into the Everquest Hall of Fame.

[edit] Progession Server Timeline (Now Defunct)
In summer of 2007 there were two new servers added called Progression Servers. These servers were special rules servers that allow for players to restart and raid and quest through content to unlock new expansions. Originally there was the Combine server, however due to its popularity there was The Sleeper server opened up. The Sleeper's population eventually waned as interest fell with the servers and the Combine was combined with The Sleeper (post humorously referred to as the "Combined server"). The Progression Server time lines can be found here on the right border: *[ http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/].
Today the Combine(d) server is merged with Druzzil Ro as of March 5th, 2009 once the server caught up with the main servers. Today only "of The Sleeper" and "of Combine" titles remain for those that participated in these special servers.
Congratulations to those guilds and individuals that are recorded in the annals of progression server history.
