PoHate Armor

The original end game armor for Clerics was obtained by hunting in the Plane of Hate. The visible pieces have a distinctive purple tint to it, which has remained a theme for cleric armor ever since then. (The Cleric armor in the Theatre of Blood also has a purple tint, as do other cleric armor sets such as the Ornate set and Elemental set from the PoP expansion.)
When Plane of Hate was revamped, it was effectively divided into 4 Tiers. Tier 1 is the largest area, surrounding the port in area, and the area where the cleric armor can drop.
To obtain the armor, you need to hunt mobs named a cleric of hate. They have a habit of Complete Healing themselves, so be ready to keep them stunned, or to fight them three or four times until they run out of mana.
The armor itself can be turned into cleric guild masters in the Plane of Knowledge for gems when you are done with it.
