Shadow Knights are unholy warriors who use fear, pain, and disease to attack all that is good in the world. Shadowknights are primarily a melee class, able to wear plate and wield many kinds of weapons.

Shadowknights are deadly opponents who use evil spells to slow and cripple their enemies. They steal strength and life from their victims, using their stolen power to strengthen themselves and their allies. When needed, shadowknights use their powerful harm touch ability to greatly damage their opponents.

Versatile tank class within EQ.

Shadowknights are one of the three tank classes within EQ. They started out as a crossbreed between warriors and necromancers, but have long since developed into a unique class. Although the shadowknight is not able to take damage as effective as a warrior can, a shadowknight has an array of spells and abilities to negate this difference and shine as a tank in a group setting. A shadowknight will not often be picked over a warrior to tank raid bosses, but in case of emergency they will step up and hold their own.

Shadowknights are known for a few of their strengths. Their ability to tap life back from their opponents (and damaging them that way). Their ability to feign death during times of trouble or when pulling new mobs for the group. And the ability to generate non damage area of effect aggro, keeping the mobs away of the softer classes and giving them the opportunity to deal with the mobs.
